• System Requirements

To get the most out of Fitbod, please ensure your device is running a recent version of iOS, watchOS, Android, or Wear OS. Here's what we support:

    iPhone and Apple Watch

We support the current major version of iOS and the previous major version. For example, with iOS 26.2.1 as the latest release, we support both iOS 26 and iOS 18. This applies to any iPhone that Apple currently supports for those versions.

For Apple Watch, we support the current and previous major versions of watchOS. Your Apple Watch must be paired with an iPhone running a supported iOS version.

Note: We don't currently support iPad.

Important: Soon Fitbod will no longer support iOS 17 and watchOS 9. Please update to iOS 18 or watchOS 10 (or newer) to continue receiving updates and new features.

    Android and Wear OS

We support the current major version of Android and the previous major version. For example, with Android 16 as the latest release, we support both Android 16 and Android 15. This applies to phones running those versions.

For Wear OS, we support the current and previous major versions of Wear OS. Your Wear OS watch must be paired with an Android phone running a supported Android version.

How to check your OS version

iOS: Settings > General > About
watchOS: Open the Watch app on your iPhone > General > About
Android: Settings > About phone > Android version
Wear OS: Settings > System > About (on your watch)

What if I'm on an older version?

If your device is running an unsupported version, the Fitbod app may continue to open and function. However, you may not receive new features, updates, or bug fixes. We also cannot guarantee performance or provide fixes for OS-specific issues.

For the best experience, we strongly recommend keeping your device updated to the latest version available.

Why drop support for older versions?

Each year, Apple and Google introduce new technologies, security improvements, and performance enhancements. By focusing on recent OS versions, we can build a more stable app, ship new features more quickly, and maintain security and compatibility with current platforms.

  • Can I use Fitbod without an internet connection?

Yes. You can keep training anywhere, even without a connection.

    What works offline:

    • Generate workouts using our local algorithm.
    • Log and save workouts. Data is stored on your device and syncs when you're back online.
    • View exercise thumbnails and previously cached videos.
    • Get workout suggestions based on your history.

Note: To avoid losing locally saved data, please reconnect and let the app sync before deleting it.

    With an internet connection

Some features rely on connecting to our servers to provide the full experience:

    • Focus Exercises: Focus Exercises need a connection to build workouts that follow your current training split and rotation. If you're offline, the app can still generate a workout so you're never without one, but it may not align with your expected split.
    • Exercise videos: Previously viewed videos may be cached, but videos that haven't been viewed recently need a connection.
    • Records and exercise history: Personal records, milestones, and full exercise history are synced from the server. Offline, recent data may not be available.
  • When should I move up my Fitness Experience?

Your experience level determines the types of recommendations you'll see and how muscle recovery is calculated. Consider increasing your level when you notice these signs:

    • You consistently meet or exceed your workout goals, and workouts are becoming easy
    • You've noticed significant improvements in your strength, endurance, or both
    • Exercises in your workouts feel repetitive or unchallenging
    • You've reached a plateau and no longer see or feel the same level of progress
    • You feel confident and comfortable with your current movements and want more challenging options
    • Your muscle recovery state is recovering faster than the app suggests

If several of these apply to you, it may be time to increase your experience level. To change your level, see Fitness Experience for more details.

Important Note: Listen to your body and ensure you're not overtraining or risking injury when increasing workout intensity.

  • What kind of data do we store?

We emphasize your privacy, and Fitbod does not share or sell your data! Here is the user data we store:

    • Body Profile and Fitness Data: This includes data connected from Apple Health & Health Connect like Height, Weight, and Age, as well as various types of workout data, including logged activities, and activity duration. For iOS and Android users, Fitbod syncs with Apple Health & Health Connect, respectively, to read and write health data such as workouts, heart rate, and body measurements. This data is used to enhance workout recommendations and track your fitness progress.
    • Workout Data: The app records details about each workout session, including the exercises performed, the sets, reps, and the weight used. This data in particular helps us personalize your recommended workouts.
    • User Preferences and Settings: We store your selected fitness goals, fitness level, available equipment, and desired workout duration. This information is used to tailor your workout experience to meet your needs.
    • Account Information: Name, email address, etc.

Please see our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy for more information about what types of data we store.

    Important Note:

Fitbod is compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), so deleting your account will delete all data associated with your Fitbod account. Deleting the app from your device will delete all locally saved data that is associated with Fitbod from your device. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription.
