Fitbod builds your recommended workout from your recent training history, recovery, available equipment, and your workout and profile settings. When any of those change, Fitbod generates a new workout to keep your recommendations up to date.
What triggers a refresh
Completing or importing a workout
- Logging a workout in Fitbod.
- Importing a cardio or activity session from a connected app such as Apple Health (iPhone), Health Connect (Android), Fitbit, or Strava.
Fitbod treats newly logged activity as training history and updates your recovery, so your next recommended workout is regenerated. Imports can arrive in the background, which means a workout can change without you doing anything in Fitbod.
Changing your workout setup
- Switching gym locations.
- Adding, removing, or editing available equipment.
- Changing your workout duration, fitness goal, experience level, training split, muscle group focus, or workouts per week.
- Manually adjusting muscle recovery.
Updating your profile or app settings
- Editing your height, weight, or other body measurements.
- Changing your preferred units (lbs/kg).
- Changing the app language.
Generating a new workout yourself
- Tapping Refresh Workout.
What happens to edits you've made
Edits you make to a recommended workout before you start it aren't saved separately. If you swap exercises, reorder them, or adjust sets and then something noted above triggers a refresh, your edits are replaced along with the rest of the workout.
To keep your edits, tap Start Workout. At that point, the workout is set.
FAQ
I made changes to my workout and they disappeared
Edits you make to a recommended workout before you start it aren't saved separately. If anything that affects your recommendation changes, such as a new workout logged or imported, an equipment or gym change, or a settings change, Fitbod generates a fresh recommendation and your edits are replaced.
I didn't change anything and my workout is different
This is often a workout or cardio session arriving from a connected app. If Apple Health, Health Connect, Fitbit, or Strava syncs an activity, including one recorded outside Fitbod, and including syncs that happen in the background or overnight, Fitbod treats it as new training history and updates your recommendation.
Will Fitbod regenerate a workout I've already started?
Once you've tapped Start Workout, it won't be regenerated.
How do I generate a new workout myself?
Tap Refresh Workout from the workout tab under the "..." menu.
